I have never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas

Despite the fact that the title to this has absolutely nothing to do with this post, besides that Halloween is tomorrow, it has been a semi-good day. You know those days that are just kinda crappy for no apparent reason, well today was one of them. But, enough with that.

I actually finished my homework early today! I considered going to be but I have to stay up so I can register for classes at midnight. All the classes I were hoping for are full. Bummer. Waiting list here I come!

I carved a pumpkin! Well, actually two. One with my real family and the other with my pretend college one.

Oh just me and my cutest little brother, we carved this together.

Finished product. We named him Norman.

Yes, me and my roommate carved a demon baby. Surprised?

The little stencil book for pumpkins actually had a demon baby in it! We named it Griffin. Cute. Halloween isn't as fun when you can't go trick-or-treating. Less candy and not much to do when your 18. I am going trick or treating with the BYU athletes! Anyways, thats all. Enjoy this picture of my
pretend family.

College doesn't always make you smarter.

I didn't get to sleep until five o' clock this morning. Never again.
Don't go to walmart after ten by yourself. Unless you have men with you, you just might get taken. Thank goodness for good, protective men.
I love Taylor Swifts new album RED. It is so good and also has nothing to do with anything except for the fact that it distracts me from everything that I should be doing.
When you can't have a goldfish in your apartment, improvise :)

Yes these fish are the sweedish kind. They don't float hence the need for tying them to string. Just in case you were wondering, yes, they "died" last night.

Once Upon A Time is SO good I watched the first season in one week.
Pinterest is addictive and my new best friend.
College makes me more baby hungry.
Roommates are awesome :)

Have a wonderful day!

Oh this crazy thing we call college!

No matter how hard you try, you can never get to sleep before midnight.
Random dance parities are normal and welcomed.
You get distracted SO easily.
Random boys show up at your door and want to make you rootbeer floats.
Dishes pile up in the sink, and no one tells you to wash them.
Naps :)
Hair, hair and more hair.
Roommates are absolutely the best! And I have the greatest of all.
There are the most attractive men on campus.
You meet people everywhere you go.
You see the strangest things on campus, yet somehow it seems normal.
You bake every night just because you can.
You laugh and giggle constantly.
You study... sometimes.
You have to make the biggest decisions of your life!
For me- my family is still close by.
You can paint you fingernails silver and no one cares.
It makes you more baby hungry.
You can't find enough space to put all your food.
There is always someone to hang out with.
WE LOVE COLLEGE!!!!

Happy Thursday!

The Candy Land Series: Really Raisins?

It was Christmas time and busier then Black Friday. I was rearranging all of the little truffle Christmas trees about the store. With my back turned I heard a group of teen boys come. A deep voice coughed behind me. I jumped and turned around to see one of them right behind me.
Me: "Oh, hi, you scared me!"
Him: "Oh sorry... um I have a question."
Me: "Okay what can I help you with?"
Him: "Do you have a raisin?"
Me thinking: Does he know he is in a candy store? "Sorry, we don't."
Him: "Oh darn, what about a date?"
Me: "Oh... I see. (I smile) We don't have any of those either. Sorry!" I turned and walked away laughing to myself. Boys are rather dumb when they get together. They proceeded out of the store laughing at the guy who was rejected. They then stood outside the store and watched us through the glass for a little bit. (The store is like a fish bowl with all glass walls.) Ha ha when will they learn that pick up lines don't work?

The Candy Land Series: The Musical Man

Singing to girls isn't normal. Especially when you don't know them. At all.

I once had a guy come into the store and ask me for help. Normal. Until, once I offered advice, he motioned to me to walk around the counter using his index and middle finger like a little man. Not normal. I took the long walk around the counter and he proceeded to look me up and down. Not to mention that he is about 28 and I was 17. Gross. After helping him locate some chocolate directly behind him (sorry sir, but are you blind?) I returned to my spot behind the counter. I started putting his order together when he starts asking the question. How old are you? But, he was being sneaky (or not so much) and instead asked where I went to school. Without hesitation I replied- insert high school name here. Usually that does it to the older ones, but not him. He proceeded to ask me where I lived and what I like to do. Its kind of the same scenario of the nosy hair dresser, I really wasn't interested in telling him my life story. I asked for his method of payment, and just when I thought things were getting normal again. They didn't. He started singing to me as I was bagging his order. He started singing Just The Way You Are. I avoided eye contact and handed him his bag. He sang all the way out the door and I still didn't look at him.

Should I have told him that wasn't normal to improve his chances with the next 17 year old he tried to hit on? Naw.

The Candy Land Series: Introduction

I used to work in a candy store. It was delicious and I loved it. The craziest things happen when working in the mall, you see so many strange people. Oh the stories I could tell, OH WAIT, that's exactly what I am going to do.  I should have written all of the crazy things I have seen down earlier (I actually should have just filmed my life, it would have been stellar movie material.) but, it didn't. That is why I am doing it now.

 (Insert movie announcer voice here)

Welcome to the Candy Land Series- to the world of the unknown. Where boys creep, old ladies are super mean, and much, much more. Buckle up, its going to be a crazy ride.

To Caitlin:

What's so special about today? Its my best friends birthday!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAITLIN!!!!

I have know this fantastic woman since sophomore year and it seems like much longer. We met through a mutual friend setting up for Homecoming and then we watched Two Weeks Notice. Since then, bffs. We have a secret boy language that no one understands. We are both a little creepy. We tell each other stories and laugh. She listens to the oldies, and I don't. We live parallel lives with different timings, what happens to one happens to the other. No, despite what people think, we are not together, that's just incredibly weird. ha ha. Here is to Caitlin!

Happy Birthday!!! I hope your day is wonderful. Your 19!!!! Ah its crazy. Thanks for being an amazing friend and for all the good times. You are spectacular.

a sweet reunion.

I found my water bottle!!!
It was lost. I left it somewhere on campus and it was gone for a week.
I checked the lost an found several times and I finally found it today!

This little cutie has been with me everywhere for almost one year. Its has been to Lake Powell (that it why it is slightly melted on one side) on choir tour, to school, work and everywhere imaginable.
It even has a name. Link. Thanks to Roy Woodall. I am glad its back.

Excited and Soaked in Tears.

I am completely overwhelmed with joy. Today the rules for missionary ages were changed. Girls can now go on a mission at 19, instead of 21. Ever since I was 14 I have known I would go on a mission. I have been wondering how a mission would work into my life at this point. Now its clear. I am so excited. When they announced it I cried, tears of joy. I watched the press conference following the announcement. Elder Holland felt the sorrow for those who desire but can't serve. My tears turned to sadness as I realized I may not be permitted to go due to health reasons. Elder Holland cried with me as he felt my grief. My roommates witnessed my first complete break down. We prayed together. This gospel is the reason I am so happy. I can't wait to share what makes me SO happy and gives me hope. The thought of not being able to breaks my heart. But, I know its for me, so there must be a way.

With God all things are possible.

Enjoy Conference.
